Ivan Dixon, (April 6, 1931, (New York City, New York) - March 16, 2008 (Charlotte, North Carolina)) was an Emmy Award-nominated American actor and television director best known for his role as Sergeant James Kinchloe in the television series Hogan's Heroes. His decision to leave freed him up to explore more serious work, and he went on to become a successful director. After the series cancellation, it was used as Medical Camp 9 in the Nazi sex thriller Ilsa: She Wolf of the SS (1975), during the filming of which it was burned.
