At the footbridge, turn left and and take the right fork where the path diverges at a clearing, heading eastward. Turn left on the path and follow it as it heads south alongside the river. You'll first climb up the steep path up into the Ashridge Estate where you'll enjoy the Monument before strolling around a section of the delightful woodlands on the estate. At the end of your walk you may be able to pop into The Coach & Horses for an afternoon drink.
