Situated about 73 miles from St. George, Whitmore Canyon takes you to an overlook of the Grand Canyon with stunning views of the Colorado River. The road continues seven miles over lava rock down to Whitmore Canyon Overlook. Ensure your vehicle is in a good working condition. The original school building burnt down in 2000 and the existing one was built in 2001. My wife and me wanted to reach the North Rim, starting from St. George, UT.
